Kolkata is the capital of West Bengal and the second largest city in India. Erstwhile capital of India during British rule, it is also termed as cultural capital of India. It is the major centre of literature, spirituality, music and cinemas and also famous for its textile and food, especially sweets.
Kolkata also acts as the gateway to eastern India and for the trips to hill station of Darjeeling, the eastern Himalaya and tiger stalked waterways of Sunderbans Tiger reserve.
